About this Indicator

Forest area refers to land spanning more than 0.5 hectares with trees taller than 5 meters and a canopy cover of more than 10%, or trees able to reach these thresholds in situ, as defined by the FAO Global Forest Resources Assessment.

This dataset covers the period from 1990 to 2023, recording data for 213 entities. Data is sourced from World Bank.

Limitations
